"I don't want to go to jail"
We had a little bit of an exciting moment and I thought you all might like to hear about it. Ryker was playing at the neighbors house across the street. They decided to come to my house to play. After they got over here, I asked Ryker to run back and get his shoes. While he was running, I called after him, asking him why he had not looked both ways for cars. Just then, a police man pulled up and turned on his lights. Ryker started to freak out and came running home crying, "I don't want to go to jail." I guess he thought that was were he was going since he had not looked for cars. While it turns out the policeman was just a neighbor and thought Ryker might like looking at the lights. He laughed because he had never seen a kid act that way when they saw him. It was pretty funny but Ryker was clinging to my neck in fear. Of course, the officer gave him a police sticker and let him turn on and off the lights in his car. After that, Ryker thought it was pretty cool but I still thought it was pretty funny. I wonder if he will look both ways before crossing next time?

Ha! That is hilarious. Man, it's been a rough day for the Ryker, hasn't it? He's had an emotional day. I think his bike ride to the park probably pushed him over the edge! I know it almost did the same to me...
Ha ha... I heard the "I don't want to go to jail" part last night, but missed the rest of the story. That's so funny. I'm glad they didn't take him downtown.
That is such a good story. One for the baby book for sure! I hope he looks before crossing regualrly now!
So Jason and I seriously laughed about this story all night long! Isn't it funny what goes through little kids' minds?! I'm glad he's not "in jail" and can't wait to see him and the rest of you when we get back this fall.
